About Us

Parents want the best for their children. But because of the complexities of today's world, parents cannot do it alone. They need support from educators and leaders to turn their dreams for children into realities-to open the door and let the future in.

Educators want to help children thrive in school. They need to know everything that research and best practice have to offer, and they need the chance to apply these lessons to their everyday settings.

Leaders want to know which policies and practices support children and families. They need policy analysis and research data to improve programs and services for children.

For more than 20 years, the Center for Children & Families (CC&F) has met these needs. In all of our work, we combine research and practice so that best practices from the field shape the questions we study. In turn, we weave the knowledge that we gain from our investigations into our services for parents, educators, and leaders.

Our experienced staff seek to improve children's tomorrows by supporting their early learning and well-being. Our projects develop the following key resources:

  • Groundbreaking research to inform the field
  • Rigorous program and policy analysis to guide leaders' decision making
  • Research-based professional development to transform educators' practice
  • Innovative online and print educational materials for parents, educators, and leaders
  • Expert technical support for programs, parents, educators, and leaders
  • Capacity-building to assure the process of change continues beyond our direct intervention
  • Strategic collaborations with state and federal agencies, schools, early childhood programs, universities, national organizations, and foundations.

Our credo is simple: The progress of our nation depends on our children; the future of our children depends on us.
