Child Care Quality: Does Partnership Make a Difference, and an Extension of the Partnership Impact Research Project

CC&F is in the middle of an intensive six-year research investigation on the nature of partnerships among early education providers. The mixed-methods study is examining the impact of partnership on child care center quality, family child care quality, and children's school readiness. Recently, CC&F analyzed quantitative data from partnering programs and state early education leaders and produced a research brief, Child Care/Head Start Partnership: Partnering Programs More Likely to Offer Comprehensive Services. Currently, CC&F is collecting observational data from a systematic random sample of child care centers, school readiness data from a sample of children, and observational data from a sample of family child care homes. The project has received grants from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Child Care Bureau and from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. The combined funding for the project exceeds 2 million dollars.
